I’ve never been very good at starting things.

Books, text messages, relationships, always feels way more difficult than they should.

That first spark of inspiration, that initial idea, always falls short of my reality. The words needed to introduce myself always get stuck in my throat. I can type and delete four or five messages before deciding I was satisfied with the first one. I’ve constructed the plots of a dozen novels, and ended up abandoning them because I couldn’t find the right place to start.

And yet, I constantly head back to beginnings. I love meeting new people, and having new experiences. I love looking back on the first time I met someone and marveling at how far our relationship has come. I love finding the right words and reading them over and over again.

This blog marks the start of a new journey, a fresh-faced, sparkling beginning.

I’ve got some plans for content, but we’ll see how closely I stick to them. Just some internal dialogue, some random musings, and a bit of poetry. If it interests anyone else, I’d love to take a look at some of my poems, and explain the rationale behind them. Sometimes I feel like my figurative language is so specific and brief that you’d have to be me to actually understand what I’m talking about.

So, if my writing interests you in any way, feel free to stop by from time to time and see what I’m up to. I’d love to share pieces of my life with you, however small and random they are.
